The Home of Ronna Binn-Hersh and Louis R. Hersh

Ronna Binn-Hersh has loved music all of her life and has been involved in
volunteer work with several different musical organizations. She is also an
accomplished pianist and teacher. So when the Northridge earthquake caused her living room’s fireplace to fall, she opted not for a new fireplace, but instead to take the opportunity to create a perfect space for chamber music and piano concerts. Ronna is blessed with having two wonderful Steinway grand pianos.

Her latest endeavor is the creation of “Classical Encounters Foundation,” a non-profit corporation dedicated to sharing music with the community, providing a venue for musicians to perform concerts in (with pay) and giving scholarship money to outstanding students.

At the present time, Ronna still does some piano teaching, and Louis, a lawyer, still takes an occasional law case, but his passion is photography, and you can see his professional photos and photo albums all over the house. They join the three giant birds, constructed by sculptor James Connell, which circle lazily around the concert room ceiling, and the other beautiful and unique artworks which adorn the house.

And they love hosting our concerts, as Ronna explained, “Even though we have many concerts at our house, we especially enjoy having Pacific Serenades performing here because of their wonderful programs and highest quality musicians-and their people who do all of the work and make us feel like guests in our own house!”
