Nicholas Phan, tenor  Nicholas Phan is quickly establishing himself as the tenor to watch among America's next generation of singers. He recently made his debuts at the New York City Opera, the Los Angeles, the Chicago Opera Theater, the Arizona Opera, the Atlanta Opera an in Europe at the Opera de Lille and the Frankfurt Opera. A graduate of the Houston Grand Opera Studio, Mr. Phan's appeared in many productions there including the world premieres of Daniel Catan's Salsipuedes and Mark Adamo's Lysistrata, and productions of Madama Butterfly, Falstaff, The Little Prince, Turandot, La Traviata, Lucia di Lammermoor Ariodante, and Die Zauberflöte.
Also active on the concert stage, Mr. Phan' many appearances this season include his debuts with the Music of the Baroque, the San Diego Symphony, and the Oregon Symphony, and performances with the New York Festival of Song in both the Kennedy Center and Weill Hall. He also appears in a recital in the On Wings of Song series in New York, presented by the prestigious Marilyn Horne Foundation. Recent engagement have included his debuts at the Rheingau Musik Festival, the Marlboro Festival, and the St. Louis Symphony; and appearances with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra Memphis Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra of St. Luke's, Pacific Symphony, and the National Symphony Orchestra. A graduate of the University of Michigan, Mr. Phan also studied at the Manhattan School of Music and the Aspen Music Festival and School, and was the recipient of a 2004 Richard F.
