Benjamin Bartelt

Violist Ben Bartelt has performed in a dozen countries on six continents, and across fifteen of the United States of America. As an orchestral musician, he has toured with the YMF Debut Orchestra and the Junges Stuttgarter Bach Ensemble, and performed under conductors such as Neville Marriner, Michael Tilson Thomas, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Krzysztof Penderecki, Peter Oundjian, James Conlon, Osmo Vänskä, and Nicolas McGegan. He has performed in the Spoleto Festival Orchestra, the New World Symphony, and as guest principal violist of the Juneau Symphony.

An active freelancer in Southern California, Ben has performed with Camerata Pacifica and for the Dilijan Chamber Music Series, Pacific Serenades, the Enlightenment Music Series, The Music Guild’s Coffee, Cookies and Concerts series, and the Colburn Chamber Music Society. He has performed in productions for the Pacific Opera Project, Musical Theatre West, and with the Kaleidoscope Chamber Orchestra. As a chamber musician, he is a founding member of the Euler String Quartet and DuselForty58, a crossover ensemble that performs music from Bach to jazz. He has performed for the Bruman Summer Music Festival and Festival Mozaic. Ben performs with a bow made by Charles Audinot, on generous loan from the Maestro Foundation.
