Our break from the busy schedule of a normal concert season has not been idle time for Pacific Serenades. Thanks to a grant from City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs, since this past fall, we have been working on a project with Belinda Teitel, of the Center for Nonprofit Management in Los Angeles, to figure out the next steps for our organization.
Pacific Serenades is excited and honored to have our June 25 concert presented as part of the One City One Pride West Hollywood Arts Festival, an exploration of LGBTQ Pride through arts and culture.
To help with our plans going forward, and to help us complete the funding for our upcoming concert, please make a tax-deductible gift to Pacific Serenades. We are especially looking for donations to allow us to pay our talented musicians. A donation of $1,000 will sponsor one of the five performers, and for a $500 donation, we will pair you with another donor to provide sponsorship for a performer.
Abdelmonem and Marianne Afifi have several important things to commemorate this year. It’s been 40 years since the two met in Vienna, and they are both celebrating significant birthdays: Marianne is turning 60 and Afifi—as everyone calls him—is turning 75.
What better way to celebrate than to commission a new chamber piece!
